About AnaConDa (What is AnaConDa?)

What is AnaConDa?

AnaConDa (Anaesthetic Conserving Device) is an anaesthetic delivery system developed for the administration of volatile anaesthetics such as Isoflurane or Sevoflurane to invasively ventilated patients.

AnaConDa is a small device which is inserted in the breathing circuit between the ET-Tube and the Y-piece. The simple design of the AnaConDa incorporates a unique miniature vaporizer and an anaesthetic reflecting filter which makes it possible to deliver anaesthetic agents in a simple and efficient way.

The AnaConDa is intended for single use only and needs to be replaced every 24 hours or when needed.

Administration of Isoflurane or Sevoflurane with the AnaConDa should only be carried out in a setting fully equipped for the monitoring and support of respiratory and cardiovascular function and by persons specifically trained in the use of inhalational anaesthetic drugs.

The AnaConDa is a less complicated alternative to an anaesthesia machine. No vaporizer or circle system (CO2 absorbers and valves) are required. AnaConDa works with any ventilator and syringe pump to deliver the same efficiency as an anaesthesia machine (with Approx. 1.0 – 1.2L fresh gas flow).
